End Point Electrical covers Chatswood from our base in Terrey Hills, for both businesses and homes. Chatswood: towers in the centre, heritage streets beyond
Chatswood splits two ways. Around the station and the shopping centres the skyline is high-rise apartments and office buildings, with tenancies that change hands every few years. Each fit-out needs new power and data on the floor, plus emergency and exit lighting that has to be tested on a schedule. Apartments in the towers bring requests for extra data points, since a home office in a concrete unit rarely gets good Wi-Fi.
Step back from the centre and the streets are Federation and interwar houses, a good share of them in heritage conservation areas on both the east and west sides. These homes often have boards that were upgraded piecemeal over the years, leaving a mix of fuses and breakers. When owners renovate, we usually recommend a new board with RCDs on every circuit and room for an induction cooktop or air conditioning.
Typical jobs
Typical Jobs in Chatswood
What the work usually involves, how long it takes and what you are left with when we pack up.
Commercial fit-out and maintenance
Office and retail fit-outs around the Chatswood centre, including emergency and exit lighting tests.
Commercial work is mostly power and lighting for office and shop fit-outs, plus the emergency and exit lights that need regular testing. In a larger building we arrange access and any shutdowns with the building manager. Noisy or power-off work is planned around your trading hours where possible, and the switchboard schedule is updated when we finish.
- You end up with
- Tested circuits with an updated switchboard schedule, plus a CCEW
Data points and Wi-Fi
Network cabling for Chatswood offices, and data points for home offices in the towers.
A typical data job adds wired points to the rooms that need a steady connection, such as a home office or the wall behind the TV. Every cable runs back to one spot near the NBN connection, where the network gear lives. Where Wi-Fi drops out, we mount access points on the ceiling and feed them by cable. Each point is tested and labelled.
- You end up with
- Tested, labelled data points and Wi-Fi coverage in the rooms you use
Switchboard upgrade
Boards with a mix of fuses and breakers in older Chatswood houses, replaced before the renovation starts.
The board we usually replace is an older one with ceramic fuses, or with only one or two safety switches (RCDs). It comes out and a new board goes in with circuit breakers and RCD protection on the circuits. We size it with spare room for later additions like air conditioning or an EV charger. Expect the power to be off for most of the job.
- Usual time on site
- 4 to 6 hours
- You end up with
- A labelled switchboard with tested RCD protection and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW)

“Andrew and Jake have been amazing and professional to work with. They've fixed power points and replaced light fittings at my place. I've since recommended them to both my parents and grandparents where a fuse box upgrade has been completed for my fathers place and an oven install along with lighting and ceiling fans for my grandmother. Both have had nothing but positive things to say. Would highly recommend!”

“I recently completed a major renovation on my home where we essentially rebuilt it stage by stage, eventually tripling the size of the house. Endpoint Electrical wired the entire project and were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Our build was a little unconventional compared to a standard new build, as we were living in the house the whole time. This meant the electrical work had to constantly adapt — thinking about both the present and the future, with some areas not even built yet while others were scheduled to be removed later on. Despite the challenges, the team handled everything professionally and thoughtfully. They are exceptional at what they do, very easy to communicate with, can think out of the box and all round a top blokes. I use them when ever I can and recommend to all.”

“Andy, Jake and their team were fantastic. Great communication, showed up when they said they would and with all materials there. They adapted smoothly to my atypical problems and their attention to detail was outstanding. Their work is so neat and tidy I asked them to back to tidy up a previous electrician's messy cabling. I've recommended End Point to multiple friends already and will keep coming back.”

Chatswood Electrician FAQs
Do you do commercial electrical work in Chatswood?
Yes. We take on offices and shops, from fit-out power and data to emergency lighting. In a larger building we work with the building manager on access and shutdowns. We plan noisy or power-off work around your trading hours where possible, so staff and customers are not left without lights.
How often does emergency and exit lighting need testing?
AS/NZS 2293 calls for a discharge test every six months, with the results kept in a logbook. In Chatswood office and retail buildings this is usually arranged through the facilities or building manager. We can run the tests and replace any fittings that fail, so the records stay current.
Is it worth replacing the old switchboard in a Chatswood house before renovating?
Usually, if the board is a mix of fuses and breakers or has no spare space. A renovation adds circuits for a new kitchen or air conditioning, and that new work needs RCD protection anyway. Doing the board first gives the builders reliable power for the rest of the job. A board change takes 4 to 6 hours.
