Your Newport Electrician
End Point Electrical works on Newport homes from our base in Terrey Hills. Typical Newport requests are cameras and Clipsal Wiser controls that owners can check from their phone, and wiring for renovations of older beach houses, some of them fibro. Steep blocks shape most of these jobs, so we look at access on the first visit. Give us a bell on 0478 045 154. NSW contractor licence 397311C.

Newport: fibro beach houses and new homes on steep blocks
Newport climbs steeply from the ocean beach on one side and the Pittwater shore on the other. The housing mixes older beach houses, a good number of them fibro or weatherboard, with large new homes built to catch the view. Many sit across several levels with long stairs between the street and the front door, so cable runs are longer and subfloor access varies a lot from one house to the next.
Older fibro homes need care during a renovation. Fibro made before the late 1980s may contain asbestos, so we do not cut or drill it, and where it has to come out we arrange removal by people licensed to handle it. Cable then goes in through the roof space or the new framing. Owners who spend time away often want cameras and lighting they can check or switch from a phone, which suits a Clipsal Wiser setup.
Typical jobs
Typical Jobs in Newport
What the work usually involves, how long it takes and what you are left with when we pack up.
Security camera install
Cameras covering the stairs and the street entry of Newport homes, viewed from your phone while you are away.
A typical home job is a set of cameras covering the entry points and the driveway, recording to a unit inside the house, with the feeds on your phone. Some homes add a video intercom at the front door or gate. We plan the camera positions with you, then run the cable through the roof space and walls so nothing is left exposed outside.
- You end up with
- Cameras showing on your phone, plus a walkthrough of the recorder and the app
Home automation
Clipsal Wiser lighting control for Newport homes, so lights can run on schedules when nobody is in.
Most automation work centres on lighting control: scenes and timers you run from an app or a wall keypad. Larger homes usually go with a wired system such as Clipsal C-Bus or KNX, while Clipsal Wiser suits a smaller retrofit. Climate and blinds can be added later. Cabling is far easier during a build or renovation, so we plan it with you and your builder early.
- You end up with
- A programmed system with a run-through of the controls, plus a CCEW for the electrical work
Build or renovation wiring
Renovation wiring for older Newport beach houses, planned around fibro walls and multi-level layouts.
We start from your plans and draw the lighting and power layout room by room. Cable goes in at rough-in while the frame is open, with each run photographed, and fit-off happens once the surfaces are finished. We work to the builder’s program and size the switchboard for what you plan to add later, so a late change rarely means opening walls.
- You end up with
- Every circuit and safety switch tested, with a CCEW at handover

“I recently completed a major renovation on my home where we essentially rebuilt it stage by stage, eventually tripling the size of the house. Endpoint Electrical wired the entire project and were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Our build was a little unconventional compared to a standard new build, as we were living in the house the whole time. This meant the electrical work had to constantly adapt — thinking about both the present and the future, with some areas not even built yet while others were scheduled to be removed later on. Despite the challenges, the team handled everything professionally and thoughtfully. They are exceptional at what they do, very easy to communicate with, can think out of the box and all round a top blokes. I use them when ever I can and recommend to all.”

“Andrew and Jake have been amazing and professional to work with. They've fixed power points and replaced light fittings at my place. I've since recommended them to both my parents and grandparents where a fuse box upgrade has been completed for my fathers place and an oven install along with lighting and ceiling fans for my grandmother. Both have had nothing but positive things to say. Would highly recommend!”

“Andy, Jake and their team were fantastic. Great communication, showed up when they said they would and with all materials there. They adapted smoothly to my atypical problems and their attention to detail was outstanding. Their work is so neat and tidy I asked them to back to tidy up a previous electrician's messy cabling. I've recommended End Point to multiple friends already and will keep coming back.”

Newport Electrician FAQs
Can you run new wiring through the fibro walls of my Newport beach house?
We avoid cutting or drilling fibro, since older sheets may contain asbestos. Cable usually goes in through the roof space or under the floor, dropping into walls through existing openings where possible. If sheets have to come out for a renovation, we arrange removal by people licensed to handle asbestos before we start in that area.
Can I check the cameras at my Newport house when I am not there?
Yes. Cameras record to a unit inside the house, and an app shows the live view and recordings on your phone. A wired connection to the recorder gives the most reliable remote view, so we place the recorder near your internet connection. On steep sites we plan the camera positions with you to cover the street entry and the stairs.
Is wiring a steep, multi-level Newport house harder?
It takes more planning. Runs between levels are longer, and parts of the subfloor may be tight or open to the weather, so we use conduit and outdoor-rated cable where needed. On the first visit we look at how each level can be reached and build that into the quote, which avoids surprises once the work starts.
