Electrician in Dee Why
Electrical work for Dee Why apartment owners and for the houses further up the hill.
Your Dee Why Electrician
For electrical work in Dee Why, End Point Electrical comes from our base in Terrey Hills. Much of what we do there is inside apartment buildings: replacing old unit boards and adding data points to rooms the Wi-Fi misses. The houses further up the hill bring switchboard upgrades after years of extensions. Phone 0478 045 154. We hold NSW licence 397311C.

Dee Why: red-brick blocks by the beach, houses up the hill
Dee Why has one of the densest spreads of apartments on the Northern Beaches. The older red-brick blocks near the beach mostly date from the 1960s and 1970s, and many have unit boards that were never upgraded. Newer buildings around the town centre have modern boards but bring different requests, such as data to a study nook or an EV charger in a shared car park, which needs the owners corporation to agree.
Up the hill towards Narraweena and Wheeler Heights the streets turn to houses, many of them modest post-war houses that have been extended more than once. Each extension tends to hang a few more circuits off the original board. We often open these boards to find every slot taken and some circuits with no RCD at all, which is a common reason for a switchboard upgrade in Dee Why.
Typical jobs
Typical Jobs in Dee Why
What the work usually involves, how long it takes and what you are left with when we pack up.
Switchboard upgrade
Full boards in extended Dee Why houses, and fuse-era unit boards in the older blocks by the beach.
The board we usually replace is an older one with ceramic fuses, or with only one or two safety switches (RCDs). It comes out and a new board goes in with circuit breakers and RCD protection on the circuits. We size it with spare room for later additions like air conditioning or an EV charger. Expect the power to be off for most of the job.
- Usual time on site
- 4 to 6 hours
- You end up with
- A labelled switchboard with tested RCD protection and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW)
Data points and Wi-Fi
Wired data to the study corner or TV wall in Dee Why apartments, where concrete floors block the Wi-Fi.
A typical data job adds wired points to the rooms that need a steady connection, such as a home office or the wall behind the TV. Every cable runs back to one spot near the NBN connection, where the network gear lives. Where Wi-Fi drops out, we mount access points on the ceiling and feed them by cable. Each point is tested and labelled.
- You end up with
- Tested, labelled data points and Wi-Fi coverage in the rooms you use
Home EV charger
Chargers in shared Dee Why car parks once the owners corporation approves, or on the garage wall of a house.
A home EV charger usually goes on a garage or carport wall, on its own circuit from the switchboard. We check the board has capacity first and help you pick a charger that suits your car and how far you drive. If you have solar, we can set the charger up to use daytime generation. Load management on the charger helps when the board is close to its limit.
- Usual time on site
- 2 to 4 hours
- You end up with
- A tested charger on a dedicated circuit and a CCEW

“Andrew and Jake have been amazing and professional to work with. They've fixed power points and replaced light fittings at my place. I've since recommended them to both my parents and grandparents where a fuse box upgrade has been completed for my fathers place and an oven install along with lighting and ceiling fans for my grandmother. Both have had nothing but positive things to say. Would highly recommend!”

“I recently completed a major renovation on my home where we essentially rebuilt it stage by stage, eventually tripling the size of the house. Endpoint Electrical wired the entire project and were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Our build was a little unconventional compared to a standard new build, as we were living in the house the whole time. This meant the electrical work had to constantly adapt — thinking about both the present and the future, with some areas not even built yet while others were scheduled to be removed later on. Despite the challenges, the team handled everything professionally and thoughtfully. They are exceptional at what they do, very easy to communicate with, can think out of the box and all round a top blokes. I use them when ever I can and recommend to all.”

“Andy, Jake and their team were fantastic. Great communication, showed up when they said they would and with all materials there. They adapted smoothly to my atypical problems and their attention to detail was outstanding. Their work is so neat and tidy I asked them to back to tidy up a previous electrician's messy cabling. I've recommended End Point to multiple friends already and will keep coming back.”

Dee Why Electrician FAQs
Can I put an EV charger in my apartment car park in Dee Why?
Often you can, but the owners corporation has to approve it first and the building supply needs spare capacity. We look at the main switchboard and the cable route to your space, then give the strata committee the details it needs to decide. Once it is approved, the install itself is a dedicated circuit and a wall-mounted charger.
Why does the Wi-Fi drop out between rooms in my Dee Why unit?
Concrete slab floors and brick walls in apartment buildings soak up a lot of the signal, so a router in one corner rarely reaches the bedrooms. A wired data point to the far rooms, or a ceiling access point fed by cable, usually fixes it. We run the cable through existing cavities where the building allows.
Our Dee Why house has been extended twice. Is the switchboard big enough?
Possibly not. Extensions often add circuits to the original board until there is no space left, and some of those circuits may have no RCD. We check what each circuit feeds and test the protection, then tell you whether the board can take more load or should be replaced. A replacement usually takes 4 to 6 hours.
