Castle Hill: big project homes and growing apartments
Large two-storey brick project homes from the 1980s and 1990s fill much of Castle Hill, many with a double garage and a pool. Their switchboards were sized for that era. Now the same houses are taking on an EV charger or a bigger ducted system, and the original board often runs short of space or capacity. Checking the board comes first on almost every job here.
Owners refreshing these homes often want lighting and climate on one app, which Clipsal Wiser handles without rewiring every room. Cameras covering the driveway and side gates are another regular request on the wider blocks. Closer to the metro station, newer apartment buildings add a different kind of work, with unit owners after extra data points or new light fittings.
Typical jobs
Typical Jobs in Castle Hill
What the work usually involves, how long it takes and what you are left with when we pack up.
Home EV charger
Chargers in Castle Hill double garages, with the 1980s or 1990s board checked for room first.
A home EV charger usually goes on a garage or carport wall, on its own circuit from the switchboard. We check the board has capacity first and help you pick a charger that suits your car and how far you drive. If you have solar, we can set the charger up to use daytime generation. Load management on the charger helps when the board is close to its limit.
- Usual time on site
- 2 to 4 hours
- You end up with
- A tested charger on a dedicated circuit and a CCEW
Air conditioning circuit
Circuits for replacement ducted systems in large two-storey Castle Hill homes.
Most heating and cooling work starts at the switchboard. A split system or ducted unit needs its own circuit and an isolator at the outdoor unit, sized for what the system draws, and older boards often need upgrading first. We wire for brands such as Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric. Electric underfloor heating in bathrooms is another regular job.
- You end up with
- A dedicated, tested circuit for the system and a CCEW
Home automation
Clipsal Wiser lighting and climate control added to existing Castle Hill homes.
Most automation work centres on lighting control: scenes and timers you run from an app or a wall keypad. Larger homes usually go with a wired system such as Clipsal C-Bus or KNX, while Clipsal Wiser suits a smaller retrofit. Climate and blinds can be added later. Cabling is far easier during a build or renovation, so we plan it with you and your builder early.
- You end up with
- A programmed system with a run-through of the controls, plus a CCEW for the electrical work

“Andrew and Jake have been amazing and professional to work with. They've fixed power points and replaced light fittings at my place. I've since recommended them to both my parents and grandparents where a fuse box upgrade has been completed for my fathers place and an oven install along with lighting and ceiling fans for my grandmother. Both have had nothing but positive things to say. Would highly recommend!”

“I recently completed a major renovation on my home where we essentially rebuilt it stage by stage, eventually tripling the size of the house. Endpoint Electrical wired the entire project and were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Our build was a little unconventional compared to a standard new build, as we were living in the house the whole time. This meant the electrical work had to constantly adapt — thinking about both the present and the future, with some areas not even built yet while others were scheduled to be removed later on. Despite the challenges, the team handled everything professionally and thoughtfully. They are exceptional at what they do, very easy to communicate with, can think out of the box and all round a top blokes. I use them when ever I can and recommend to all.”

“Andy, Jake and their team were fantastic. Great communication, showed up when they said they would and with all materials there. They adapted smoothly to my atypical problems and their attention to detail was outstanding. Their work is so neat and tidy I asked them to back to tidy up a previous electrician's messy cabling. I've recommended End Point to multiple friends already and will keep coming back.”

Castle Hill Electrician FAQs
Will my Castle Hill home need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. Many 1980s and 1990s Castle Hill homes have a little spare room on the board, and a charger on its own circuit may fit. If the board is full, or the house already runs ducted air conditioning and a pool pump, an upgrade or a charger with load management is the safer path. A home charger install takes 2 to 4 hours.
Can you add smart controls to a Castle Hill house without rewiring it?
In most cases, yes. Clipsal Wiser uses smart switches and dimmers that replace your existing ones, so lighting and fans can run from an app without new cable through the walls. For a full renovation, a wired system such as C-Bus or KNX is worth considering while the walls are open.
Our ducted air conditioning is being replaced. What electrical work is involved?
A new ducted unit may draw more than the old one, so we check the existing circuit and isolator against the new unit and upgrade the cable or breaker if needed. In two-storey Castle Hill homes the run from the board to the outdoor unit can be long, which affects cable size. We test the circuit before the system is commissioned.
